Kitzsteinhorn – it’s more than just a glacier. It’s a special glacier. Austria’s first glacier ski resort and an alpine experience for everyone, all year round. Surrounded by Austria’s highest peaks, it’s the starting point for the greatest mountain adventure above 3,000 metres, whatever the season.


Year-round skiing (1.1 Skis (and sledges) can be rented at the top! Although the number of slopes and lifts is limited, the joy of summer skiing is immense. A descent is most often possible from the Gipfelstation (3000m) to the Alpincenter (2450m) or lower to Langwid (1980m) (depending on weather and conditions). Please note: Ski pass prices: adults approx. £42, children approx. £22, youths approx. £31

Kitzsteinhorn also offers hiking tours, numerous trails, beautiful views, and themed attractions at 3,000 metres – it's breathtaking. In addition, there's a full range of catering – with regional dishes, viewing terraces, and live music. Please note: access without skis is possible. Adults around £40, children around £20, honey around £30.

There are e-bike charging stations at Kitzsteinhorn (for all plug types).

Panoramic Viewing Platform – Top of Salzburg-This is the highest point (3029m) in the province of Salzburg that can be reached all year round without climbing. From the platform, there is a view of the highest peaks of the Austrian Alps, including the Grossglockner. To get there, you need to take a cable car to the highest station, Gipfel, then look for the entrance to the tunnel on the first floor, which leads to the terrace.The descent to the terrace is down 12 steps, while the return requires rests!

Panoramic cinema on the Glacier. Salt at the entrance to the tunnel leading to the viewing platform is the Panoramic Cinema - Cinema 3000. Free entry, shows every 20 minutes.

ICE ARENA the possibility of sledging and other activities in the summer, relaxing on loungers in the snow, sunbathing in full sun and snow – all these contradictions are possible! To get there, take the Gletschershuttle funicular from Gipfelstation to the Ice Arena.

ACCESS: Achhorn-Bruck-Zell am See- Kaprun, at the roundabout turn towards Kaprun/Kitzsteinhorn. Free parking.
NOTE: A day ticket costs £40 adults, £20 children, £30 young people Ski pass approx. £43/€23/33€. You cannot go down the glacier and come back up, even on the same day, unless you have pre-arranged it at the ticket office. It is possible to rent skis and sledges at the Alpincenter.
