Gerlos Pass & Zillertal High Alpine Road & Thurn Pass in one day! ![]()
270 km of motorcycle exhilaration
We start from Imbachhorn, and passing Kaprun, we head towards Tyrol. After less than an hour, we arrive in Krimml, where we can tempt ourselves with a few hours' visit to one of the largest waterfalls in Europe (it's magical! We're planning a separate post about this place very soon :)), or head towards the Gerlos Pass and admire the alpine panoramas from the saddle of our motorcycles.
After leaving road 165, we don't take the 'beaten track' but opt for another climb – from 550 to 2020 m above sea level – along the Zillertaler Höhenstraße – not as popular as Gerlos or Grossglocknerstrasse, but a less crowded, scenic, charming route of medium difficulty. There, for a longer break, we recommend selecting a charming inn with a view of the Zillertal Alps.
Next, from the north side, we drive around the High Tauern mountain massif and land at the Thurn Pass (1273m above sea level), from where we head back to the Imbachhorn guesthouse.
