The medieval Hohenwerfen Castle, where the 1968 film 'Where Eagles Dare', starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood, was filmed.

Featured in the film "Where Eagles Dare," it was actually "Schloss Hohenwerfen" located in Austria. During the filming of the movie, this castle was used as a training camp for the Austrian police. However, there was no cable car near Hohenwerfen Castle, and all scenes featuring one were filmed elsewhere.

The castle is located on the opposite side of the Ice Cave, 60 km from the Imbachhorn Guesthouse
