The Krimml Waterfalls – Krimmler Wasserfälle – are 380m high (from 1470m above sea level to 1090m above sea level), making them one of the highest in Europe and placing them ninth among the highest waterfalls in the world. The Krimml Waterfalls were formed by the destructive activity of a glacier. They consist of three rock shelves, the lowest of which is the most spectacular. On sunny days, the falling water creates beautiful rainbows.
A path runs alongside the waterfalls, which leads to the very top of the upper shelf and then continues into the valley to a mountain hut for some highlander tea.
The Krimml Water Mile waterfalls are Austria's only nature monument to be awarded the "European Diploma of Protected Areas" and are widely recognised as one of nature's most attractive wonders.

The road is wide, gravel, and paved. Along the way, there are restaurants and toilets. At the very top (photo on the right) is a beautiful, high-lying valley cut by a charming river, which is the source of the waterfalls.

In the valley, there is a restaurant with traditional cuisine (we recommend the dish: Kasnocken - traditional fried dumplings with "fragrant" cheese and onion) and a place to relax.
For those unable to ascend the mountain, there is an option to take a taxi.
Busy taxis are parked at the waterfall entrance. They take guests to 4 points. The highest and furthest is the shelter-restaurant. Buses run in both directions. You should check the departure times. At the waterfall entrance there are many attractions for children and souvenir shops.
