Today, we have an action-packed route for you, partly running through German territory.\u00a0<\/p>

The journey begins with a drive through Zell am See towards Munich, before the town of Saalfelden leads us to a picturesque route along Pillersee lake.<\/p>

From there, we head to the town of K\u00f6nigssee, which is home to the lake of the same name, considered the most beautiful and purest alpine lake in Germany. The lake and the surrounding mountains can be admired during boat trips, but we recommend dedicating an extra day to this, as the cherry on top of this route awaits us: Kehlsteinhaus, located a few kilometres from the lake.<\/p>

Kehlsteinhaus, (English: Eagle's Nest) \u2013 a tea house, also called a caf\u00e9, on the summit of mount Kehlstein in the German Alps, opened in 1938. It was a gift from the NSDAP to Adolf Hitler on the occasion of his 50th birthday.<\/p>

Setting aside the appropriateness of gifting Hitler such a present, the caf\u00e9 itself and its location are incredibly impressive and well worth visiting. A 6.5-kilometre-long, winding, narrow asphalt road, Kehlsteinstra\u00dfe, built specifically for this purpose, leads to the site, ending in a car park at an altitude of 1,710 metres above sea level (this section can only be travelled by coach \u2013 tickets can be purchased on-site \u2013 more information at the end of the post). From the car park, after walking 126 metres through a rock tunnel, you reach a lift finished in brass. After ascending 124 metres, it takes you to an altitude of 1,834 metres above sea level, directly to the villa, from where you can go for a walk on the peaks or sit on a bench above the clouds.<\/p>

The views from the summit are truly breathtaking\u2026<\/p>

But that's not all!<\/p>

Upon your return from the caf\u00e9, another attraction awaits you \u2013 the winding Rossfeld Panorama Road, and thepicturesquely located Werfen Castle, which you'll pass on your way back to your guesthouse, Imbachhorn.<\/p>

Anyone who has already been to Hitler's cafe can visit the castle or be tempted by a boat trip on Lake K\u00f6nigssee \u2013 everyone can get the most out of this day!<\/p>

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:<\/p>

\u2013 Access via Rossweld Panorama Strasse costs \u20ac4.50 for a motorcycle<\/p>

\u2013 The cost of entry, coach departure, and visiting Hitler's cafe is 28 Euros per person<\/p>

\u2013 The bus to the caf\u00e9 runs daily from 8:55 AM to 4:00 PM every 25 minutes, with the last departure at 4:50 PM.<\/p>
