Surrounded by picturesque and wild Alpine peaks, these high-mountain reservoirs are one of the most beautiful attractions in our area. The upper lake is situated at an altitude of 2,036 metres above sea level and holds 84.9 million cubic metres of water. Water flows from here to the Wasserfallboden reservoir (1,672 m above sea level), after which it is pumped back up to further increase the amount of electricity generated. For the adventurous, there's an option to climb the dam face via via ferratas and more - information available on site. The bus departing from the Alpenhaus Kesselfall (in Kaprun) goes over the Klamro reservoir, up to the level of the L\u00e4rchwand cable car. From there, you change to a funicular railway (photo on the right) - the only one of its kind in Europe, which covers a height of 431m.
